Are you aware of the fact that the time is not far when to get things done through a mobile will be lot more flexible than through PCs or laptops? Yes, advanced thanks to 5G technology which is going to make this revolution happen! So, what is this highly anticipated 5G or “5th Generation Mobile Technology ”? Before informing you about this 5G mobile application, let’s have a short insight into the evolution of 5G.
5G has come through the continuous evolution of 1G, 2G, 2.5G, 3G and 4G. 1G was the 1st generation of mobile technology which was just an analog system that permitted a mobile only to receive and throw the voice within a country. Then 2G was introduced where it allowed mobile to have limited data support in the range of 9.6 kbps to 19.2 kbps and transmit the voice with digital signal. This is used in our digital handsets where phone networks are used mainly for voice transmission and are essentially circuit-switched networks. After that 2.5G wireless System came with more bandwidth but was not able to bring any new evolution. Later on 3G with more capabilities like faster communication, Internet, Mobile T.V, Video Conferencing, Video Calls, MMS, 3D Gaming etc. – enriched the mobile technology. To lower the cost of the applications of 3G system with better performance, 4G was introduced. It was able to provide cellular and broadband multimedia services everywhere and allows smooth global roaming ubiquitously with lower cost. And, the latest comer in this race is 5G that we are going to discuss today.
5G is a packet switched wireless system with wider area coverage and high throughput. Simply saying- 5G technologies will provide consumers with the same abilities of 4G, but with more power and features in hand held phone. 5G wireless uses OFDM and millimeter wireless that enables data rate of 20 mbps and frequency band of 2-8 GHz. It offers: worldwide cellular phones, extra ordinary data capabilities, high connectivity and of course, a bright future. 5G, which is being called the Real world wireless or WWWW that is World Wide Wireless Web, allows complete wireless communication with almost no limitation, Multi-Media Newspapers, watch TV programs with the clarity as to that of an HD TV. To enjoy this technology, mobile hardware must improve and provide larger phone memory, quicker dialing speed, more clarity in audio and video etc.

5G technology is a concept that is designed as an open platform on different layers- from physical layer up to the application. The layers of 5G network are done through ISO modification that support OWA (Open Wireless Architecture) and more flexibility in the network layers. You can have a glimpse of the layers of 5G network below:

A new revolution of 5G technology will demand for completion of normal computers and laptops whose marketplace value will of course be further affected. The new coming 5G technology, expected to be fully established within the next 5 years (2015-2018), will be available in the market in affordable rates, high pick future and more reliability than its preceding technologies.
